Coming soon: more stories from Malawi

Our friend, John Lumbe, who blogs at Ambitious and has his own Flickrstream,  will be helping the Prepaid Economy project remotely from Malawi. Studying at the Malawi College of Accountancy, John is working his way through school. Expect to hear from him over the next few months, in the meantime, here is a short story he sent it from his home village. (some minor edits, all photos John Lumbe)

Malawi being the developing country, most of her people are subsistence
farmers. They work just for the food, though it is like that, they are
trying their best to atleast have the growing technological development
devices like mobile phones, television and radios. Our government is
also doing their best so that people in rural areas have
electricity. Most people top up their mobiles when they sell some
nonstaple food like vegetables and pigeonpeas. Some do work in estates
during the harvesting season (ie. when labour demand is high).
